You Know Your Baby Woke Up Waaaay Too Early When...

...he's desperate for a nap at 7:30am:

He has two teeth coming in. His first two. When I noticed the first last week, I was excited. So early compared to his brothers! Liam never ceases to amaze me with his personality and his uniqueness.

The last few days have been significantly less exciting and exponentially more frustrating. Never in this young lad's life has he found it necessary to scream - not cry, but scream - the entire time he's awake unless he's being energetically distracted. The usual toys don't do it. He needs animated jumping about! Funny faces! New toys that he's never seen before!

Tylenol doesn't help. Nap times? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Ha! ha. oh. As I write this, I am listening to him scream from his crib. I've tried it all...twice.

Besides that, things are great! Aidan has a 102 degree fever and threw up during the night! He is lethargic and red-faced and lying prostrate on the couch! Watching Lazy Town!

I fear that my mental state is not benefitting from the extra stress. But what can you do?

I sincerely hope your day is going better than mine.

Awww...I'm sorry you are all having it so rough! From about 7 months to 9 months, Isabella took all naps on me. It was frustrating but I just prayed that one day she'd nap on her own again, even if it was at age 12!

I've been barfing my brains out but at least Bella's learning to mimic me which makes me laugh. Sticking her tongue out, bending over and coughing really dramatic.

Had to laugh that Aidan's watching Lazy Town in his condition.

Tylenol shmylenol. Try motrin, stronger, tastes better and works for (almost) eight hours. My son was (IS) a horrible teether, we're buying stock in motrin. People told me Humphrey's teething tablets worked (in the baby aisle at the pharmacy) but my son never let me put them in his mouth. Everyone swore by them, so I'll suggest them.Good luck!

Can you get this stuff in Canada http://www.teetha.co.uk/? It is fantastic, worked like a dream for Harvey. He still asks for it now when stressed, even though he has all his teeth. I'll mail you some if you like x

I will second the teething tablets. They worked like a charm for my little girl. I know that some children don't like to have them in their mouth, so here is my suggestion. They dissolve very easily, so put one or two in your palm, and dissolve with a drop of tap water. Rub the resulting paste on the poor afflicted gums, and the result is nearly immediate. Plus, they don't harden the gums the way baby oragel does. They work pretty good for adult toothaches as well!

I've heard people sing the praises of Hyland's teething tablets, which we never used personally but I'd be willing to try. I feel for you -- Julia went through a screaming phase and it nearly broke me.

I hope Aidan's feeling better soon.

Ok all this teething tablet business is giving me a seedling of hope...but as far as I can tell, we can't get them here (fellow Canadians can feel free to correct me!). Anyway, if someone would send some to me I'd pay for them! Kay, thank you for the offer! Can you email me?

I believe you can buy the teething tablets online, like at the VitaminShoppe.com?

Tree can you help me with a ghopst related question???

Here is my recent experience:

OK, deep breath.....

About a month ago I was asleep when I suddenly awoke out of the blue. I often feel like there is someone standing in the corner of my room and that night as soon as I woke up I literally think I saw a browny/blacky 'thing' rush back into my body from that corner. I am a 100% normal human being and if I read this written by someone else I would think they were a loony. Problem is, it happened to me.

What do you make of it? Do you think it was my soul?????? My two theories were:
1. It was my soul that somehow came out and had to rush back in when I awoke suddenly or
2. There was someone else jumping into me for some odd reason.

This is also going to sound wierd- I was disturbed by this because the 'thing' was black or brown. I had this odd feeling that if it was my soul it would be bright or white or something.

So that's my story. Simple and scary and totally odd. My hope is that it was all a wierd dream but maybe you know better? You mentioned recently that seeing people in the corner of your room isn't good. Please tell me that I haven't got something bad around me....

I second the Motrin (Ibuprofen) idea! Tylenol did nothing for our kids. We also depended on oragel/ambesol which are both topical benzocaine.

Hope Liam feels beter soon.

If you don't want to buy them online I can probably send you the [brand new] bottle I still have laying around. We tried using two tablets, and he just wouldn't take them. E-mail me if you'd like. We are still using baby anbesol (the nighttime version=stronger) and Motrin because he's getting some big teeth in now.

have you tried hyland's teething tablets? They work wonders for Zane. They also make a sugar free gel.

Here's the link for you:

Good Luck!

Oh, and why is it bad to see things in the corner?
